What is Eid Al Adha - How Is Eid Al Adha - Bakra Eid Celebrated In 2016

Posted by Mohd Ali
Eid Al Adha is also called the Big Eid by Muslims. This Eid IsCelebrated After Hajj and Sacrifice of Animals is also given on this Eid.

What is Eid Al Adha - How Is Eid Al Adha

Eid-Al-Adha is one of the major holidays of Islam. According to Muslim tradition, it celebrates the sacrifice that Abraham was willing to make of his own son Ishmael when he was commanded to show his commitment to Allah. At Allah's direction, the angel Gabriel substituted a lamb for Ishmael, after  Allah was convinced that Abraham would indeed  sacrifice Ishmael to prove his faith.

In this day, Muslims celebrate in several ways. A large feast is the high point of the day. The name of the holiday, Eid Al-Adha, means "The Feast of theSacrifice." An animal is sacrificed, in much the same way that Abraham sacrificed a lamb. One-third of the meat is given to the poor, and the rest goes to the holiday feast. Children get gifts to commemorate the holiday, and special prayers are said throughout the day.Eid Al-Adha takes place on the 10th and last day of the Hajj, the celebration of holy pilgrimage to Mecca, in the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. (In 2017, this is September 1st on Western calendars.) Muslims the world over are encouraged to make a pilgrimage to Mecca and celebrate .

At the end of the Hajj(annual pilgrimage to Makah),Muslims throughout the world celebrate the holy day of Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice ). In 2016,Eid al-Adha will begin on approximately September 11th/12th , and will last for three days.It is the second of the two major Muslim holy days.

The other is Eid-ul-Fitr which follows Ramadan-- a lunar month of partial fasting. It is celebrated on the 10th of Zul-Hijjah, the last month of Islamic calendar. Because the date of theFeast of Sacrifice is determined by a lunar calendar,it is observed about 11 days earlier each year with respect to the Gregorian calendar.

Islamic months begin at sunset on the day when the lunar crescent appears after the new moon, and can be sighted by the unaided eye.As a result, although the phases of the moon can be predicted accurately, the moon's visibility at a given place on Earth cannot be estimated in advance. Thus, the feast day has always been celebrated on different days in various areas of the world

What Is BakrId/ Eid Al Adha History | Why Bakra Eid Is Celebrated - Bakrid Wiki 2016

Understanding the Messageof BAKRID The festival of sacrifice - known popularly as Bakrid . We have brought you the History Of Bakrid Festival to Let You know Why iS Bakrid Celebrated - You Dont need to Search Wikipedia or any other source . You can also check Bakra Eid Mubarak Wallpapers 2016 Here

What Is BakrId/ Eid Al Adha | Why Bakra Eid Is Celebrated - 2016

Bakra Eid is celebrated in commemoration of the greatsacrifice of Prophet Abraham(Peace be upon him),an exemplary man who lived 5, 000 years ago. Abraham was an intelligent, upright and rationally thinking man. He could not tolerate thesuperstitious practices of the society in which he was born. His father himself was a chief priestmanufacturing and selling idols.

Says the Holy Qurán:
“And recite to them news of Abraham, when he said to his father and people, ‘What do youworship?’ They said,

‘We worship idols and remain to them devoted.’ He said,

‘Do theyhear you supplicate? Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?’ They said, ‘But we foundour fathers doing this.’” (Qurán 26: 69-75)
Abraham could not accept their answer. He wisely called upon them to reason.

“So when the night covered him, he saw a star. He said, ‘This is my Lord.’ But when it set,he said, ‘I like not those that set.’ And when he saw the moon rising, he said, ‘This is myLord.’ But when it set, he said, ‘Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among thepeople gone astray.’ And when saw the sun rising he said, ‘This is my lord; this is greater.’But when it set, he said, ‘O my people! Indeed, I am free from what you associate withAllah.’” (Qurán 6: 76-78)

Abraham openly declared before the worshippers of idols, celestial bodies and false gods that he is notwith them.

“‘Indeed, I have turned my face toward Him who created the heavens and the earth, inclining towards truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah.’” (Qurán 6:79)“[He said]:

‘Do you observe that which you and your forefathers have been worshipping?Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, Who created me, and He [itis who] guides me. And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. And when I am ill, it is Hewho cures me.’” (Qurán 26: 76-81)

Abraham was chosen by Almighty God as His messenger. Like all other messengers of God, he alsostruggled hard to re-establish DHARMA.
That is to call back people to worship the Creator andSustainer of the Universe. The greatest ADHARMA is to worship anything other than Him. In thesight of God Almighty the act of associating or attributing partners to Him or worshipping any of Hiscreations is the greatest sin.

“Verily, joining others in worship with Allah is a great injustice.” (Qurán 31: 13)
The Qur’an also warns this as an unforgivable sin and those who commit this will be eternally in Hell-fire. This is the evil which deforms the concept of real God in human mind and thus makes manfearless to commit sins. Further it divides humanity on the basis of the deity which they worship.

This evil is the root cause of the caste-system, untouchability, inequality, exploitation, priesthood and othersocial evils. In spite of the opposition from his own father and his society, Abraham fought single-handedly against his superstitious society and called them to worship the Creator: In the process hewas forced to face several trials and hardships. He was expelled by his father from his home. As Allah is not the personal god of Muslims or an Arabian tribal god as widely mis sunderstood. In Arabic language it is the proper name of God Almighty, Who is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe .

The Creator and Master of this universe also warns those who ban things which are made lawful by Him:“
And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, ‘This is lawful and this isunlawful,’ to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allahwill not succeed.

[It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment.
”(Qurán 16: 116, 117)

On this great occasion let us all come together to understand and practice the real message of Bakrid, that is sacrifice, patience and obedience to our Creator.
